I work in the psychological industry and I have to say that the most important thing in preventing something, not just snoring is to get rid of it with your mind. If you manage to get rid of it with your mind then everything is good. I've heared many people that tell that it is hard to get rid of things that they are used to but I have to say that is not hard at all.
Why is so hard to get rid of things that you are used to, like snoring or writing with mistakes for example (I have seen on forums people that write with mistakes and they say that it is hard to get over it and write correct again. I say to him that the best thing is to manage to write correct and do not tell that they can, that they writed in the morning and because of that they used to write incorectly and stuff like that). My mother used something interesting with me, I do not know if it was etichal but it works: when I manage to get my finger in my nose she punched my hand. I've learned that this type of action is not good and if I make it I'll get the punch, I do not want the punch. So, if someone is snoring you can help him using the following steps, that manage a little help and atention:
- try to wake up the person and tell that is snoring.
- is it does not get up try again and again, because it is going to stop snoring: the answer is simple, no one likes to be get up from sleep and she/he is going to stop snoring.
- if you get her/him up then tell that you are not going to live with him/her anymore if is snoring again. Maybe the first time she/he will snore again and again but if you woke her up again and again it will learn that this type of behaviour is not good and it will learn not to snore again. The brain learns, you learn, if you care about your life and your partener life.
- the brain is learning all the things. The brain can be made to do the things you want. It is like tics or addiction from the internet. You cannot say that if you are addicted to the internet you cannot get rid of it. Get the laptop and put it in the trash, cut the internet connection, it will work. It will last a couple of days in order to not feel the need of the internet and if you really feel the need of the internet you will not have the computer to get connected to the internet. If you really feel the need do not go to friends, take care of yourself, get rid of the things that are going to waste your life.
If you really want to get rid of something and do not waste your money on it then you have to really want this type of thing. Do you really want to get rid of snoring? Do you really want this thing?? Do you really want to change your life? Do you really want to make something? If you really want you will make it, if you do not want it, you will not.
